Rule 1 -Try to decide on a limited colour pallette. It must contain at least 2 neutrals (black, white, grey, beige, navy) and perhaps 3 other colours. In the image above the neutrals are black, white and tan (including navy and denim) with colours of melon, turquoise and gold.
Rule 2 – You must have a range of basics including at least 2 types of jeans (boyfriend, wide leg, skinny, bootleg) and some plain tee shirts or singlets in greys or whites. Also think about the neutral tan wedge shoe – there’s not much this baby won’t go with!
Rule 3 – Don’t forget accessories! This are an integral part of your wardrobe and should include a range of summer and winter scarves, two or three different styles/colours of sunglasses, a range of jewellery in both neutral (silver and gold counts as neutral) and your chosen colours.
Rule 4 – Your winter and summer capsule wardrobes will be different. The winter one should contain at least 2 pairs of boots and a range of jackets/coats but more on that when it starts to get cold here in Melbourne!
